The Challenge of Machining Hastelloy C-276
Hastelloy C-276 is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium superalloy renowned for its exceptional resistance to severe corrosion, pitting, and stress-corrosion cracking. However, its high shear strength, tendency to work-harden rapidly, and high heat generation make it notoriously difficult to machine.
At AXALLOY, we do not treat Hastelloy like standard stainless steel. Our engineering team evaluates material behavior, part geometry, and tight tolerances before cutting begins.
