Precision Grinding

Surface, cylindrical and centerless grinding. Tolerances to ±0.002 mm; roundness to 0.002 mm; surface finish to Ra 0.2 μm for bearing fits and sealing surfaces.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which stainless grades do you recommend for strength and corrosion resistance?

17-4 PH and 15-5 PH provide a strong balance of strength, corrosion resistance and machinability in controlled conditions. For high corrosion resistance in non-magnetic applications, 316L is common. Duplex 2205 and Super Duplex 2507 are preferred where high strength and chloride stress-cracking resistance are critical.

Can you hold tight positional and flatness tolerances on thin-wall stainless parts?

Yes. We evaluate geometry, stainless grade and wall thickness to set fixtures, toolpaths and cutting parameters that minimize distortion. We confirm capability during DFM and pilot runs.

Do you provide passivation and heat treatment certification?

Yes. We can provide passivation, heat treatment and coating certificates as part of the documentation pack, along with FAI and full dimensional reports if required.

What surface finishes can you achieve on stainless?

Standard machined Ra 1.6 μm, precision machined Ra 0.8 μm, ground finishes to Ra 0.2 μm. We advise on achievable finishes by feature and grade during review.
