Copper-Nickel Marine Parts
Precision CNC machining of copper-nickel (Cu-Ni) components for seawater service, built for engineering teams that value manufacturability, process control, documentation and dependable communication.
AXALLOY Precision is a Shenzhen-based CNC machining partner focused on difficult alloys and complex geometries. We support international engineering, procurement and quality teams from prototype development through low-volume and repeat production.
- Material focus: copper-nickel alloys (e.g., C70600 CuNi 90/10, C71500 CuNi 70/30) and related seawater-service alloys including Monel 400/K-500, duplex/super duplex stainless and titanium.
- Part focus: high-value marine components with tight interfaces, thin walls, demanding surfaces and controlled documentation.
Why Copper-Nickel for Marine Parts
- Excellent seawater corrosion resistance and biofouling resistance
- Good resistance to erosion and cavitation in high-velocity seawater
- Stable mechanical properties across marine operating temperatures
- Galvanic compatibility with common marine alloys in seawater systems
What We Machine
Typical copper-nickel marine parts we produce:
- •Pipe fittings and flanges: elbows, tees, reducers, split-flanges, stub ends
- •Valve and pump components: bodies, seats, glands, shafts, impellers, wear rings
- •Heat-exchanger parts: tube sheets, baffles, water boxes, headers, plugs
- •Manifolds and nozzles: seawater distribution blocks, spray nozzles, orifices
- •Instrumentation and connectors: sensor housings, threaded adapters, couplings
- •Custom precision hardware: bushings, sleeves, fasteners, bearing carriers
Our Approach to Cu-Ni Machining
Copper-nickel's ductility and tendency to smear call for a controlled process. We define the route after evaluating material behavior, geometry, tolerances, surface needs, inspection strategy and production volume.
Tooling
Sharp, positive-rake carbide; honed edges minimized to reduce smearing; chipbreakers tuned for consistent chip control.
Parameters
Moderate cutting speeds with controlled feed per tooth to avoid built-up edge; generous, filtered coolant for heat removal and surface integrity.
Workholding
Rigid fixturing and balanced clamping to protect thin walls and sealing faces.
Finishing
Planned semi-finish/finish passes, precision grinding where needed, and burr-controlled deburring with final cleaning.
Inspection
CMM/optical checks tied to datum strategy; surface roughness verification for sealing surfaces.
Capabilities at a Glance
Prototype to Production
1–10,000+ parts; prototypes in 5–10 business days; standard lead time 10–20 business days; expedited service available.
CNC Milling
3-, 4-, 5-axis; up to 1,000 × 600 × 600 mm; ±0.005 mm milling tolerance.
Turning & Mill-Turn
Ø500 × 1,000 mm turning; mill-turn up to Ø400 × 800 mm; typical ±0.008 mm on multi-feature parts.
Swiss Turning
Up to Ø32 mm bar for small precision Cu-Ni components.

Special Processes
Deburring, precision cleaning, heat treatment coordination (where applicable), coating, marking and assembly support.
Typical Tolerances and Finishes
Final achievable tolerances on Cu-Ni depend on geometry, wall thickness and inspection strategy. We provide DFM and tolerance reviews to validate feasibility before build.
Engineering Support
- Drawing review and DFM tailored to Cu-Ni: wall thickness, blend radii, deburr specs, sealing faces, thread forms.
- Tolerance clarification: functional datums, GD&T stack-ups for valves, pumps and pressure-retaining interfaces.
- Process planning: fixture design, tool paths, in-process probing, and finish strategy for sealing and sliding surfaces.
- Validation: first article inspection (FAI) and agreed sampling plans for repeat builds.
Inspection and Documentation
•CMM range 700 × 1,000 × 600 mm; accuracy up to 1.8 + L/300 μm
•Optical measurement accuracy ±0.002 mm; surface roughness Ra 0.05–40 μm range
•In-process, first-article and final inspection in a temperature-controlled room
Documentation Options
- •Material Test Report / Mill Test Certificate (heat/lot traceability)
- •Certificate of Conformance
- •First Article Inspection Report and ballooned drawing
- •Full dimensional inspection report
